The town's name is derived from the lake located at its center - in Tamil Yeri means lake and Kaadu means forest. It is also explained as Seven Forest. Another version, says it as Beautiful Forest.

EXPERINCES/FEED BACK OF THE WORKSHOP :

Jai shri Mataji,

The program was very good.
the conducting of meditation sessions , giving more attention to the connection with shri Mataji, from the heart with love was wonderful and the need of the hour.
the seminar made to understand the fact that "sahaja yoga and the techniques"are to understand at least few of the different aspect of the Goddess and to be with her rather than believing in the techniques as the sole saviour.
this attitude has to be brought back to our attention globally
Let the whole collective move  to "Pleasing" Her
again i express my love for you,  all  the collective.
Let us pray for Her Grace to have more such seminars.

.
Heartiest thnaks to Shri Mataji, the program went off well.

Unni

my feedback on Yercaud Experience.

Jai Shri Mataji,
I was able to experience being one with Shri Mother in meditation continuously through out the meditation session. Thank you Shri Mataji, for giving us this beautiful, unfolding experience.
I wish and pray that All Sahaja Yogis should experience and enjoy this state of meditation just to become beautiful instruments of Shri Mataji.
I wish that every Yogi should try to attend this kind of workshops that are happening now across India.

Jai Shri Mataji,
I still carry in my heart the beautiful moments of surrendering and love to Mother, the joy of collectivity and the bliss of being one with Shri Mataji.
Thank you to our Beloved Mother and all the sahaj family for organising this workshop and making me be part of it. Neverending joy!!!
It'll be a blessing for me to participate again and again,to enjoy the blissful state of being all ONE at Mother's Lotus Feet.

This came on facebook.

Aninda Bose
for 3 days it was a heavenly experience at tamilnadu summer seminar at salem/yercaud, tamilnadu,,all sahajis were at a state of divine bliss for all the tym

Jai Shri Mataji!

I had the inspiration for this article on the 3rd day of my Sahaj
workshop in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. I had already written a similar
but the workshop brought enough clarity in me to extend it...so here
goes....pardon the length...

A few months ago, I started having this strong desire for the
eradication of corruption in India (serious problem). I started
expressing this desire through my meditation and I also did some Sahaj
techniques. I also expressed the same to my local collective and they
willingly agreed to do a collective shoe beating for the same and also
gave bandhans. Somehow after that things started happening almost
miraculously and we started reading stuff in the newspapers and
watching it on the news about how corrupt and scandalous people
including politicians, bureaucrats, film personalities were getting
exposed. There was also a national movement against corruption
supported by many honest politicians. There was also an article in the
paper which said that Indians are now tired of corruption and want out
of it and all measures are being taken for it. I can't express in
words how awestruck I was with how things were working out just within
a span of couple of months. I was also grappling for words to express
this sort of a miraculous episode...

Then just like that, one day I came across this phrase '100 Monkey
Syndrome' in one of Shri Mataji's talks. I started doing some googling
and found out that it is a phenomenon that says, when a certain
"critical number" is reached any behavior spreads spontaneously across
the entire population.

This was supposedly proved by an experiment conducted by Japanese
scientists on Macaque monkeys. Under this observation they found that
some monkeys on an island were taught to wash their sweet potatoes
before eating and gradually this behavior was learnt by other monkeys.
When this behavior was learnt by the 100th monkey then the behavior
seemed to spread across to all monkeys even to those not on the
island, almost simultaneously. So the phenomenon states that when a
particular behavior reaches a certain critical number then it
automatically spreads to the rest of the population.

The actual experimental results are not based on much factual evidence
but as Sahaja Yogis I think this phenomenon is important to us. This
phenomenon needs to be worked out at 2 levels:

1. One is to spread Sahaja Yoga to as many people as possible because
we do not know what the 'critical number' for Sahaja Yoga is. Maybe
when that critical number gets reached I think it will spread to
everybody and everywhere like wildfire spontaneously :-)

2. Secondly, which is the main point of this article - As Sahaja Yogis
I think we have a greater responsibility to express our desires. We
all have the unique opportunity of being connected to the 'Divine
Paramachaitanya' who is actively listening to anybody who is tapped
in. So let us put all our humble efforts in first and foremost trying
to establish this connection firmly. That done let us put our
attention on the problems affecting the humanity be it local, national
or global. We need not do anything, just express our humble but firm
desire to this energy and let it take over. We just have to sit back
and watch the miracle. So let us try to rise, rise beyond our daily
mundane, personal problems and focus our attention on bigger things. As Shri
Mataji has said in some of her talks that when our attention expands,
then our personal problems just melt away. My spouse always tells me
to put attention on positive things so that it increased instead of
the negative. I totally agree with it. So let us put our attention on
positive things, things which would benefit the whole of humanity -
let us put our attention on making this world a better place to live
for us and for everybody else. Let us today open our hearts and feel
the love and put forth our humble efforts to feel the pain of the
human population and request our beloved Mother to help us solve them.
I think man has created problems which are so intricate that there is
no other option left but to call for Divine help.

The state in which the world is today is very alarming. So let us for
a moment look at the faces of our children and think in what shape are
we leaving Mother Earth behind to them. So I think it is high time
NOW, what with all the grave problems affecting humanity like global
warming, pollution, corruption etc at different levels; that we
meditate and collectively express our desires. Only when we express
will the problems get resolved, so let us talk to Shri Mataji during
our meditations and express our humble desires.

I conclude with a humble request to spread this message to all Sahaj
yogis so that we can all become the 100 'monkeys' instrumental in
ushering in the Golden Age.  :-)
Thanks & Regards,

Hansa Magar
